Hello wonderful dragon parents! This week in First Grade we will be celebrating our first week of October! In ELA we will be focusing on improving our reading and handwriting skills and we will began working on the 3 P's of Handwriting: Posture, Position and Pencil Grip. This will help lead to success in all subjects! In Math we are working on Understanding Subtraction and working on our fact families. In Science we will be learning about 3 types of energy; light, heat and sound energy. Also, in Social Studies we will be learning about "Family, Friends and Me", so get ready for some fun questions at home. In Spelling this week we will be learning about the short "U" words.

Don't forget parents that we have early release on Thursday, October 6th at 10:55am to allow for Parent Conferences. Please, it is not too late if you would still like to sign up for a conference time, I would love to be able to meet with as many parents as possible.
